Traditional Chinese Sword LeagueBEGINNERS TOURNAMENT

The Traditional Chinese Sword League Beginners Tournament has been newly added to the tournament schedule this year. This Tournament will be held April 3, just outside of Washington, DC in Bladensburg, MD. The rules of play for the Beginners Tournament are the same as those for the Open National Tournament, with the only difference being that the Beginners do not play on a raised platform. Sign up deadline for the April 3 Tournament is March 22.
Chinese Sword Fighting uses tai chi techniques to give speed and fluid movement. Participants at this chinese sword fighting tournament are new to sword fighting. Some of them have done several years of emptyhand training and some have only done swordsmanship. For most, this will be their first tournament. It is a chance to try out their skills against those of similar ability without having to face seasoned veterans. The prize for this tournament is a hand made & decorated wooden jian made by Graham Cave of Tigers Den Swords in the UK. Graham makes top quality swords that meet all TCSL regulations. For more information about his work, please see Graham's page in our Featured Artisans section Don't forget that TCSL Membership is required to play in all League Tournaments. Whether you are planning to play this April or not, the League needs your support. Please renew your membership! Download a membership application at: the TCSL Website
